3 Prepper Mistakes When Storing Water

Essential tips for water storage

Water is arguably the most critical supply when prepping. Here are a few tips to avoid making mistakes.

Mistake #1 Not Clean

  • ️ The recommended amount of chlorine or bleach to add to water for long-term storage is eight drops of six percent sodium hypochlorite bleach per gallon of water, which is not harmful for human consumption.

Mistake #2 Storing in wrong container

  • ️ Storing water in a non-approved water storage container, such as a laundry detergent container, can result in harmful chemicals leaching into the water, causing immediate illness upon consumption.

Mistake #3 Not rotating your water

  • If you can get into a six month or annual rotation of your water and you check it when you rotate it every six months, it gives you a few different advantages.
